Who Is Your Oracle?

The other day I was having conversation with a member at the health club I just started going to. (Never had the time when I was working for someone else.) We began talking about our personal trainers. If you aren't familiar with the term, these are fitness pros who have learned to form work-out routines based on personal strengths, needs and targets.

Either way, Rick said something that struck me right between the eyes. "I got so confused reading all the books and fitness periodicals. Each of us has a different idea of what rewards the best. I after a long time figured if I was going to strengthen my fitness, I might as well pick one professional, listen to them and follow their routine."

Later, as I was driving my pained body home, I got to think about how adequate Rick's response was to internet marketing. Everyone's an expert. (although people who have yet to sell their first eBook.) And there are million programs, books, secrets, techniques and systems that will work for you.

The only thing is, you can instantly fall into what my favorite business school professor nicknamed, "Analysis Paralysis". That's where a lot of people are having difficulties. They keep reading, and it interfere in the way of actually doing something.

I was guilty of this, too. I must have paid for several hundred dollars worth of books and courses before I found what did the job for me, with my very own internet business.

Fortunately, the expert I decided to work in his methods was, in hindsight, an excellent choice. And by following his advice and following his ideas, I have designed a number of thriving earnings streams.

I'm not saying that my "guru" is the right one for everyone. What I'm saying is to pick one or maybe a couple of people you really appreciate, and model them. Of course, check out if they are truly successful in their own businesses first. But when you encounter with someone you appreciate and whose style you like, follow their advice and follow what they propose in their writings.
