The Mijas Golf Resort is located just half an hours drive from San Juan airport. Take the Fuengirola Coin turn off from the motorway and follow the road named Camino Viejo de Coin. The course is about 3 and a half kilometers from the motorway.

Mijas Golf Resort has made a great effort to satisfy the needs of its numerous users who wants to play golf in Malaga on the Costa del Sol, and to that end, the course comes with all facilities. There is a practice area, buggy rental, manual and electric trolleys, putting green, places to get a drink and a bite to eat, shop, dressing rooms, bathing facilities and parking. In addition, running throughout the grounds, there are places to buy water and other drinks plus toilets. There is also the possibility to participate in golf technique tuition.

Mijas Golf Resort offers two Golf Courses:

Los Olivos created in 1983/84 & Los Lagos founded in 1976. Both courses are designed by Robert Trent Senior. The main thing that distinguishes Los Olivos from Los Lagos is the amount of trees - hence the name - and its smaller size, as well as fewer water hazards. The greens are smaller, undulating and well defended. Even though both are the work of the same designer, there is no doubt there are interesting contrasts between the two courses: if Los Lagos are based on challenges of water and sand, Los Olivos is strategic narrow tree lined fairways and elevated greens. By and large the course caters for the precision golfer rather than the big hitter.

Los Lagos is a ground course with wide fairways and quite a few trees hazards, but is defended by many bunkers and 9 lakes, from which the course gets its name and which easily trap the ball. It is a course with soft movement and large greens. It could be said that the American designer wanted to present a course especially for amateurs, but simultaneously, it can present a challenge for the best golfers. One of "Los Lagos" most characteristic and demanding holes is the par five thirteenth. Seen from the elevated tees it appears deceptively easy but at the approach to the green there is water left and right, also beware of the slope as even a well hit shot is in danger of rolling off the green into the water hazard. The 5th a 571 meter monster, is also "interesting". The course is nearly free of rough and is effectively flat except for a sparse incline up the 18th hole.

There is an outstanding choice of restaurants and bars within the resort, whilst the nearby town of Fuengirola also offers a range of restaurants, along with a cinema and various shops.

The beautiful white pueblo of Mijas, popular for its donkey-drawn taxis, is placed high on the top of the mountains offering breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and several municipalities of the Costa del Sol below. Within just a ten minute drive lies some of the best rated beaches you can imagine, offering you the supreme setting for peace and relaxation.
